STARTING OCTOBER 1ST, SNAP ELIGIBILITY WILL BE EXTENDED TO ALL HOUSEHOLDS EARNING UP TO 200% OF THE FEDERAL POVERTY AND INCOME GUIDELINES. More people eligible for SNAP benefits
In September of 2022, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf announced an expansion to the state's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which is known as SNAP.
The change meant an additional 420,000 Pennsylvanians were eligible for food stamps, according to the Department of Human Services.
Starting on Oct. 1, 2022, Pennsylvania increased the income threshold for all applicants to 200% of the federal poverty income guidelines.
